Opening Statements
Thomas Jefferson
Such an inclination is concerning. Concentrating executive power to unilaterally dictate economic engagement smacks of monarchical decree. We severed ties with a king to escape such arbitrary rule. Foreign policy must be guided by laws and treaties, not the whims of an individual, lest we invite tyranny.

Alexander HamiltonAmerican Founding Era
This smacks of dangerous inconsistency! While disentangling from Maduro's regime is prudent, arbitrarily barring ExxonMobil sets a terrible precedent. Such executive overreach chills investment and undermines the sanctity of contracts, inviting chaos and weakening our nation's economic might.
